Hello

Welcome to Theatre Writing Partnership online. Please note we are closing down at the end of June 2012.

Now that Spring is here we are into our final weeks here at TWP HQ.

We are also well on the way to completing our Breath Of Fresh Air project with the National Trust at Belton House in Grantham. Playwright Judy Upton, sound designer Adam McCready, two technologists and us have been making an interactive narrative audio game for families to use when they explore Belton Park. Our expert advisors have been Year 6 pupils at Belton Lane School. You will be able to download the web app we are making, called Unearthing Towthorpe  from the Belton House website later this year. More news soon!

Our Making Tracks projects are going well. Mufaro Makubika has just left for Zimbabwe and The Gramophones leave in a few weeks for their Lands End to John O’Groats trips complete with pledges of transport including bikes,  some Marlins, a tractor ride and a light aircraft.  Read about Michael Pinchbeck’s adventures on his Making Bolero blog at  www.michaelpinchbeck.co.uk.  Jane Upton http://www.janeupton.com/blog has made an emotional trip to the Isle of Wight in search of her grandmother. Andy Barrett has been looking for writers in the East Midlands who can offer him some little objects of hope to take with him to Kosovo. He is now blogging about his Making Tracks project at twelvelittleobjectsofhope.wordpress.com. You can catch up with all the news from The Gramophones on The Gramophones Theatre Company facebook page.

STOP PRESS: If you would like to come to Nottingham Playhouse on 8 June at 6pm to hear the Making Tracks talk about their projects, please contact us at TWP. Tickets are free but we’d be grateful if you’d let us know that you’re coming. It’ll be a great event!

PS If you’re visiting our site looking for the notes from our recent Open Space event for the region which had a great turnout of around 80 people (from artistic directors of regional theatres to individual practitioners, writers and companies)  Check them out. Let us know your thoughts.

Keep watching the buds unfold!
