To mark the reopening of Midlands Arts Centre (mac) in Birmingham, artists Kate Chapman, Charlotte Goodwin and Nina West have been working with people who live, work and play in Cannon Hill Park to create an original and inventive series of walking tours – a cross between a radio play and an audio guide. This is your chance to tune in to the landscape of the park, hear its hidden stories and connect with the people who work and play there.

Amplifying The Map offers you a range of distinct trails; follow a fantastical audio adventure created by children at Tindal School, stroll from bridge to bridge on a reflective journey made with Birmingham writers or tune into past, present and future visions of Cannon Hill Park made by those who walks its paths, seek out its secrets and care for it.

Come to Midlands Arts Centre on Saturday 1 May between 10am – 7pm see the new Arts  Centre, meet the people who made Amplifying the Map and enjoy some of the walks.

If you can’t make it on 1 MAY you can download the audio walks and do them any time you like. Go to for more details. Downloads will be available from mid May.
