Lincoln hosts festival of new performance this January.

This New Year Lincoln Performing Arts Centre hosts the first ever newvolutions event; a micro-festival that celebrates the best in new theatre, dance and performance made here in Lincolnshire.

From 4-21 January, LPAC is opening all of its studios to artists, dancers and theatre-makers so that they can have the freedom and space to experiment and evolve their new ideas before testing them out on audiences.

This is a unique opportunity to support new and established practitioners working in the region with space and access to resources such as lighting and sound technicians, a crucial way of collaborating in these difficult economic times.  As part of the newvolutions festival on Thursday 19 January LPAC will also be hosting an informal Open Space event specifically for professional performing Arts organisations and artists in Lincolnshire to explore how collaboration can empower them to continue making work in a time of uncertainty for the arts.

The final work in progress performances will take place over four days from the 18-21 January, in a creative, informal atmosphere where audiences will have the opportunity to share thoughts with the artists and help them develop their ideas further.
